FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier David Alward is leading a trade mission of New Brunswick seafood companies to the largest seafood show in North America as part of the provincial government's economic development strategy.

The International Boston Seafood Show attracts more than 16,000 buyers and sellers of seafood products from more than 90 countries. The event will run March 10-12.

"As part of our economic development action plan, Rebuilding New Brunswick, our goals are to have more firms enter export markets; focus on growth opportunities through value-added exports; and diversify our export markets,” said Alward. “Trade missions such as this support these goals."

Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Michael Olscamp and Economic Development Minister Paul Robichaud will also attend.

New Brunswick will join the other three Atlantic provinces to promote the region's seafood in the Atlantic Canada pavilion, the largest at the show.

Ltd. of Blacks Harbour.

In addition to these firms, three New Brunswick companies will be exhibiting at the show: Captain Dan’s Inc., Shediac; Northern Harvest Sea Farms Ltd., Letang; and Paturel International Co., Deer Island.

Five equipment companies will participate: Cube Automation Inc., Tracadie-Sheila; Master Packaging Inc., Dieppe; Midland Transport Ltd., Dieppe; Promens Saint John Inc.; and the Research and Productivity Council, Fredericton.

More than 50 New Brunswick companies will attend to meet with international buyers.
