Government of New Brunswick

Overview

The Provincial Veterinary Services operates a veterinary pharmaceutical distribution centre that distributes veterinary pharmaceutical products to the Department's veterinary clinic in Fredericton, to the Department's various regional field offices located throughout the province and to one contracted veterinary pharmaceutical depot (located in Sackville). The Department's regional office veterinary pharmacies provide veterinary pharmaceuticals to the Department's veterinarians, who use these products to treat livestock on-farm and at the veterinary clinic and dispense the medications to livestock clients. The pharmaceuticals are also sold directly to livestock owners, through the Department's regional office pharmacies, through the veterinary clinic and through the contracted veterinary pharmaceutical depot. Many of the phamaceutical products are available to producers only by way of a veterinarian's prescription

Eligibility

All components of the Provincial Veterinary Service are available to provide service to livestock producers in the province, including the dairy, beef, veal, pork, poultry, sheep, goat, equine and game farming sectors.
