FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier Brian Gallant toured the construction site of the Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre today.

“Your government understands what matters to New Brunswickers,” said Gallant. “We know how important health care is to New Brunswickers and their families. We are working hard on strengthening health care, and with your support we are getting things done.”

The new location will allow an interdisciplinary team of health-care providers to offer community-based primary care to patients in downtown Fredericton and the surrounding area.

The centre will be relocated to the new site at 339 King St. from its temporary facility in the Centennial Building.

The provincial government will invest $4.8 million towards the project. Construction is expected to be completed in December with the opening of the clinic in January.
