FREDERICTON (GNB) – Spring weight restrictions will be lifted from highways in southern New Brunswick on Sunday, May 13. In northern New Brunswick, weight restrictions will remain in place until midnight on Sunday, May 20.
Weight restrictions for trucks are imposed each year to protect highways from damage during the spring thaw.
District engineers are authorized to close roads to trucks or to impose weight restrictions on highways or portions of highways at any time to protect them.
