FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement by Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Bill Hogan was issued today:

Due to a number of calls with concerns regarding today’s professional development sessions for the education sector occurring throughout the province, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development wishes to note that today is Council Day which is organized by the New Brunswick Teachers' Association and Association des enseignantes et des enseignants francophones.

The New Brunswick Teachers' Association has three subject councils which plan the day: one for elementary, one for middle level and one for high school. Teachers can choose which sessions to attend based on their professional needs.

These sessions are not organized by the provincial government and any questions regarding these sessions should be directed to the respective organizations.
