Overview
The Talk With Me program provides free access to speech-language services. If there are any concerns about a young child’s language development speech-language pathologists are available for parent/child consultations.
Eligibility
The Talk With Me Team may provide early language, communication and literacy services to:
All families, parents, caregivers and their children from prenatal - birth and up to school entry, with a focus on children from birth to three years of age (birth -two years and eleven months).
Families, parents, caregivers and their children from birth to school entry who have, or are suspected of having, language and communication difficulties.
Early childhood community partners (early childhood educators, service providers) for training and capacity building.
Description
The Talk With Me Program provides free early language services including parent-child programs, training and information to parents and early childhood community partners. These services are designed to give strategies to parents and early childhood community partners to help develop children’s language.
Parents can consult with a Speech-Language Pathologist if they have concerns with their child’s language development.
Parents have access to common provincial programs like Infant Massage, Baby Communicates, Songs and Rhymes.
All early childhood community partners will have the opportunity to participate in early language development training and coaching to enhance their skills and abilities in interacting with children and to identify language difficulties early.
