FREDERICTON (CNB) – Repairs have begun to sections of the NB Trail on the Acadian Peninsula between Bathurst and Shippagan. They are expected to be completed by Sept. 17.

Two sites are under repair:

•    the Saint-Simon trail bridge, 12 km south of Caraquet; and
•    the Bass River trail bridge, eight kilometres north of Bathurst.

These structures may be closed while being repaired.

The repairs are part of the Department of Natural Resources' $1.9-million capital funding for NB Trail maintenance in the 2010-11 fiscal year.
