FREDERICTON (CNB) – Repairs have begun to sections of the NB Trail in Westmorland County between Sackville and Cape Tormentine and are expected to be completed by Friday, Oct. 1.

Three sites are under repair:

•    the Tantramar River trail bridge, six km east of Sackville;
•    the Morice Pond trail bridge, two km east of Sackville; and
•    the Timber River trail bridge, two km east of Port Elgin.

These structures may be closed while being repaired.

The repairs are part of the Department of Natural Resources’ $1.9-million capital funding for NB Trail maintenance in the 2010-11 fiscal year.
