FREDERICTON (CNB) – Resource Officers Richard Kingston and Robert Amos today received the Department of Natural Resources’ Award of Excellence for 2011. The two work from the department’s Sunny Corner office.

The two officers were instrumental in saving the life of Alan Blowers who had become lost in the woods. They found him, stayed with him throughout the night, and reunited him with his family the next day.

“Their efforts have truly made a difference, and their dedication and perseverance is admirable,” said Natural Resources Minister Bruce Northrup. “This award represents service above and beyond the call of duty and exemplifies the values of the New Brunswick public service in an exceptional manner.”

Amos and Kingston were recognized in a ceremony in the lobby of the Hugh John Flemming Forestry Complex in Fredericton.
