FREDERICTON (GNB) – Anthony Smith of Canobie was the first name drawn in the 2017 regular Crown reserve angling draw. Smith and his party were successfully drawn for the southeast stretch on the Upsalquitch River.
Names were drawn to fish on one of the 20 prime stretches on the Miramichi, Restigouche and Patapedia river systems.
There were 693 applications received, with 436 successful parties drawn.
Anglers must purchase their Crown reserve angling licences by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21, or by midnight on April 21 if they are paying online. Crown reserve stretches not paid for by that date will be made available to other anglers through a reservation process.
Successful party chiefs will be contacted by the Department of Energy and Resource Development by mail or email, depending on the preference they indicated during the application process.
A complete list of successful applicants is available online or by contacting your local Energy and Resource Development office. Party chiefs can use the confirmation number they received during their application to verify online if they were successful.
People who no longer have their confirmation number can call their local Energy and Resource Development office with their outdoors card number to check if their application was successful.
