JUNIPER (GNB) – The provincial government hosted a second Economic Opportunities Summit on mining on Thursday.

“Your government understands that job creation and economic growth are priorities for New Brunswickers,” said Premier Brian Gallant. “Mining is a high-value industry and plays an important role in your government’s economic vision.”

Mining, specifically for molybdenum and tungsten, has been identified as one of 12 opportunities for growth in the New Brunswick Economic Growth Plan.

Participants at the summit included representatives from Sisson Mine, Crosby Consulting & Exploration Services, and Kamcot International.

During the summit, discussions focused on the actions implemented over the past year, as well as developing plans for future action and considering new opportunities for mining in New Brunswick.

The event was a follow-up to a series of Economic Opportunities Summits held throughout the province over the past two years to identify new prospects for job creation and economic growth.
