FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier Brian Gallant and members of the cabinet will travel across the province over the next couple of weeks to meet with community leaders and entrepreneurs who drive the province’s economy.

“Our government understands the importance New Brunswickers place on creating jobs, growing the economy, and securing health care and education,” said Gallant. “We are working hard on these priorities and, with your support, we are getting things done.”

Gallant released New Brunswick’s Economic Growth Plan on Tuesday, Sept. 6. The strategy sets out a framework for driving the province’s economy by ensuring there is a co-ordinated and complementary effort when pursuing opportunities.

Gallant, along with Economic Development Minister Francine Landry, Finance Minister Cathy Rogers and Treasury Board President Roger Melanson, will visit nine communities to talk about job creation and economic growth in a chamber of commerce tour. The tour started Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Moncton and concludes Thursday, Sept. 29 in Miramichi.

Meetings will be held in:

  • Moncton on Sept. 6;
  • Fredericton on Sept. 7;
  • Haut-Madawaska on Sept. 7;
  • Campbellton on Sept. 9;
  • Bouctouche on Sept. 9;
  • Saint Andrews on Sept. 12;
  • Bathurst on Sept. 15;
  • Saint John on Sept. 26; and
  • Miramichi on Sept. 29.

 

“We are seeking to create the conditions that will benefit families and businesses who want to thrive and succeed here,” said Landry. “It is only by working together that we will create jobs and grow New Brunswick’s economy.”
