FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government has signed a collective agreement with Local 2745 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

The group represents more than 3,200 employees, including educational assistants, school intervention workers, library assistants and administrative assistants in schools and district offices.

“I thank the two negotiating teams for reaching this agreement,” said Treasury Board President Roger Melanson. “This illustrates our commitment to ensuring the government treats its employees with fairness by respecting the collective bargaining process.”

The five-year contract includes annual wage increases of one per cent.
