FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government has signed a collective agreement with the instructional group represented by the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees.

The group includes about 30 instructors at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design.

“I would like to recognize the hard work of both negotiating teams in reaching this positive agreement,” said Treasury Board President Roger Melanson. “This illustrates our commitment to ensuring that the government treats its employees with fairness by respecting the collective bargaining process.”

The term of the contract is five years and three months. It includes annual wage increases of one per cent.

In October 2014, there were 16 expired collective agreements that had not yet been renewed. The government has reached a collective agreement with 24 of the 25 separate bargaining groups across the provincial government over the past three years.
