SAINT-GEORGES, Quebec (GNB) – The provincial government is participating in Rendez-vous Acadie-Québec, being held from Sept. 16 to 18, in Saint-Georges, Quebec.

The aim of the initiative is to bring together business people from New Brunswick and Quebec to further develop partnerships and economic exchanges between the two provinces.

“The economic impact of our relations with the Canadian Francophonie is considerable,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Francine Landry, who is also the minister responsible for the Francophonie. “Bilingualism has been a significant driver of job creation for more than 30 years. There are also positive effects for investment, trade, tourism, and immigration.”

The Conseil économique du Nouveau-Brunswick is co-ordinating the event for the province.

“Quebec has long been an economic and cultural partner of New Brunswick,” Landry said. “Rendez-vous Acadie-Québec provides our two provinces with a unique opportunity to strengthen our economic exchanges. It also enables us to support the development of our businesses with a view to increasing networking opportunities and promoting productive business relations for our respective regions.”
