FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier Brian Gallant met today with the Chinese ambassador and the consul general to Canada.

This is the ambassador’s first official visit to New Brunswick.

“These meetings are important to growing the trade relationship between China and New Brunswick,” said Gallant. “We are working hard to create the conditions for creating jobs through increasing exports to China.”

China is the province’s third-largest trading partner after the United States and India.

New Brunswick’s primary exports to China are wood pulp and seafood products which represents more than $86 million to the provincial economy.
