NICE, France (GNB) – Josh Shannon of Saint John lost his repêchage match and did not qualify for the medals round in the -66 kilogram category at the judo competitions today at the VIIth Jeux de la Francophonie in Nice, France.

Shannon lost by ippon against Armenian Varosyan Tigran. He won his first duel of the day by ippon beside Kim Sarpon of Cambodia. He lost by ippon to Grzego Lewinski of Poland to qualify for the repêchage.

Pierre-André Doucet of Moncton did not medal in the literature competition as the medals were attributed this evening.
