FREDERICTON (GNB) – The New Brunswick College of Craft and Design is holding its 16th Annual Fashion Show on Saturday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fredericton Convention Centre.

The show, Out of Sequins, has been in the making since the fall of 2013. Along with designing and creating a line of six original outfits, senior students have been working as a group to co-ordinate the event.

Money raised from the show will support two student fashion design awards.

First-year fashion design students have been given the challenge of creating one unique garment using rope. The audience is invited to vote for their favorite piece with the winner being announced at the end of the show.

Alumni have also been invited to participate by presenting their own collections as well as one-of-a-kind pieces. The show will also feature five senior students presenting their original line of clothing.

The event provides an opportunity for alumni, sponsors and students to network. Participants and attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the designers and talk about their work.

Tickets are $15 and available in advance at Read's Newsstand, the college or at the door starting at 6:30 p.m. Reservations for tables of eight may be purchased in advance for $200 by contacting the college at 506-453-2305.
