FREDERICTON (GNB) – The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program’s Express Entry Labour Market Stream is now accepting expression of interest forms from potential immigration candidates.

“Through the launch of this stream, our government is working with its federal counterparts to attract highly-skilled immigrants who present significant economic potential to the province,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Francine Landry. “This new Provincial Nominee Program stream will help increase New Brunswick’s population through immigration while creating a wider tax base and workforce to help grow our economy.”

The new stream allows the province to create a pool of highly-skilled workers who could be invited to apply for permanent residency to meet provincial labour market needs.

Applicants who have expressed interest in living and working in New Brunswick are ranked based on human capital attributes and labour market demand in their field of work. Only those who present the best profiles will be invited to apply for immigration to the Provincial Nominee Program.

“Citizenship and Immigration Canada has given us the opportunity to welcome up to 425 families through our Express Entry Labour Market Stream this year,” said Landry.  “The objective of the new stream is to make permanent residency to Canada faster and more responsive to economic and labour market needs.”
