SUSSEX (CNB) - The provincial government is joining with the Town of Sussex to install new children's play equipment at Pearson Park.

Energy Minister Jack Keir made the announcement. He was joined by Sussex Mayor Ralph Carr.

"The provincial government is proud to be a partner in this community project," said Keir. "This project for Sussex and the region will allow our young people to continue to be active and our communities to continue to thrive."

Keir made the announcement on behalf of Business New Brunswick Minister Victor Boudreau, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.

The provincial government is investing $15,000 in this project through the Regional Development Corporation's Family and Youth Capital Assistance Program (FYCAP).

FYCAP gives community groups, non-profit organizations, local service districts and municipalities involved in youth- and family-related activities an opportunity to apply for funding for eligible capital costs.
