HAMPTON (CNB) – The provincial government is investing in new playground equipment at Dr. A.T. Leatherbarrow Primary School in Hampton.

Energy Minister Jack Keir made the announcement today.

“The provincial government is proud to be a partner in this community project,” said Keir. “This project for Hampton and the region will allow our young people to continue to be active and our communities to continue to thrive.”

Keir spoke on behalf of Business New Brunswick Minister Victor Boudreau, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.

The provincial government is investing $50,000 in this project through the Regional Development Corporation's Family and Youth Capital Assistance Program. Under the program community groups, non-profit organizations, local service districts and municipalities involved in youth- and family-related activities may apply for funding for eligible capital costs.
