MIRAMICHI (CNB) – Miramichi-based Sunny Corner Enterprises Inc. will increase its fabrication capabilities with the support of a combined investment of more than $2 million by the federal and provincial governments.

"Investing in the strengths of the Miramichi is central to our government's vision of economic growth for northern New Brunswick and our entire province," said Premier David Alward. "This partnership will allow Sunny Corner Enterprises to expand its operations, increase its competitiveness, and create 172 much-needed new jobs for the Miramichi region."

Project work included the purchase of equipment for an assembly line and distribution centre, as well as expansion of the existing paint shop.

"Our government's top priority is the economy and jobs for Canadians as we build through these challenging economic times," said Miramichi MP Tilly O'Neill Gordon."Our investments in Sunny Corner Enterprises have allowed the company to increase its fabrication capabilities, enhance its productivity and strengthen its competitiveness as an industrial manufacturer in New Brunswick."
