LAMÈQUE (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $596, 000 in community and infrastructure projects in Lamèque.

"The provincial government is proud to invest in these projects which will help protect the environment as well as promote a dynamic community life that is important for the Lamèque region and the Acadian Peninsula," said Natural Resources Minister Paul Robichaud, who is also minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.

The projects and funding are as follows:

●    $291,000 to develop more than 1.5 kilometres of the Vélo-Route section going through Lamèque; assist the Deux îles, mille trésors committee and other projects;
●    $290,000 to support a new pumping station and an infrastructure project at Parc Ecologique de la Péninsule acadienne; and
●    $15,000 to buy equipment for an improvement project at Parc Richelieu.
