CLAIR (GNB) – The provincial government will invest $500,000 in the expansion of the community services centre in Clair.

“New Brunswickers want their government to make investments to help the economy,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Donald Arseneault, who is also minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation. “They also want us to make investments that will improve their quality of life, including this investment for the community services centre here in Clair.”

The $1.9-million project involves a roughly 540-square metre (6,000-square foot) expansion to the existing municipal facility. Once complete, the new centre will house the municipal office and other professional services.

“Our community services centre project involves creating rooms that are functional and capable of providing as many services as possible for the well-being of the population,” said Clair Mayor Pierre Michaud. “The whole Haut-Madawaska region will benefit from this investment announcement by the provincial government.”

The financial investment calls for the municipality to secure all remaining investments from local and/or private resources to complete the project.
