ST. STEPHEN (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $250,000 in an infrastructure project at St. Stephen’s University.

“New Brunswickers want their government to make investments to help the economy, and our investment at St. Stephen’s University will help strengthen and improve the quality of life of students, faculty and the entire St. Stephen community,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.

Funding will be used for infrastructure repairs to Park Hall, which is the university’s main building.

“St. Stephen’s University is grateful to ministers John Ames and Bill Fraser and all who have helped to make this investment in Park Hall by the provincial government,” said university president Bob Cheatley. “Together with a matching investment by the university, this grant will help make the university fire-safe for the sake of students, faculty and staff, as well as all community users of the building.”

St. Stephen’s University, which has a Christian community at its core, has been in operation since 1975. It grants degrees in liberal arts, as well as ministry studies.
