MIRAMICHI (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $102,125 towards an infrastructure project for the Miramichi SPCA.

“Animals are an important part of family life for many New Brunswickers,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation. “The Miramichi SPCA plays an important role in ensuring these animals are well taken care of while they wait to meet their new family and forever home.”

Funding will be used to renovate the existing 16-year-old facility and to construct an addition. Construction is set to start in spring 2019.

“The Miramichi SPCA is thankful to receive this funding,” said Jennifer Arsenault, shelter manager. “We are extremely excited to see what the future holds with our expansion and renovations. We look forward to helping the animals in our community for years to come.”

The Miramichi SPCA is a private, independent, not-for-profit organization supporting the community since the 1990’s.
