FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government reminds New Brunswickers that showing proof of full vaccination when accessing certain events, services and businesses, and mandatory masking in all public indoor spaces is now required.
In addition, anyone entering the province must pre-register through the New Brunswick Travel Registration Program.

Provincial rapid outbreak management team activated at 15 locations
Led by Extra-Mural/Ambulance New Brunswick, members of the Provincial Rapid Outbreak Management Team (PROMT), are activated at 15 locations across the province. Members of the team are providing various levels of assistance at these sites depending on the requirements of each location. Continuous testing at these facilities is happening on a rotational basis. These locations include:
- Harvest House, in Moncton
- Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, in Bathurst
- Manoir Brise de l’Oasis, in Bathurst
- Foyer Lillianne Ouellette, in Campbellton
- Sugarloaf Manor, in Campbellton
- Campbellton Nursing Home, in Campbellton
- Drew Nursing Home, in Sackville
- Tobique First Nation (Neqotkuk)
- Residence Alouette, in Dieppe
- Villa Sormany, in Robertville
- Villa des Chutes, in Grand Falls
- Macleod’s Too, in Bath
- Victoria Glen Manor, in Perth-Andover
- River View Manor, in Hartland
- Résidence Le Royal, in Bathurst
Confirmed cases in schools and child-care facilities
Positive cases have been confirmed in schools and child-care facilities in Zones 3 (Fredericton region), 4 (Edmundston region), and 5 (Campbellton region).
The respective school or child-care communities have been notified. If you or a family member have been in close contact with a case, you will be notified by Public Health or by the school or facility for contact tracing. If you do not hear directly, you have not been identified as a close contact.
As per New Brunswick’s Healthy and Safe Schools guidelines, schools with cases will close or move to online learning for at least one calendar day to support contact tracing, risk assessments and operational responses. Districts have contacted families directly with specific information regarding any impact on learning, including information on home learning, if required.
Zone 3 (Fredericton region) – A positive case was confirmed at Enterprise Centre School and positive cases were confirmed at Barkers Point Elementary School, both located in Fredericton. A positive case was also confirmed at the Preschool Centre on Windsor Street in Fredericton.
Zone 4 (Edmundston region) – A positive case was confirmed at Saint Mary’s Academy in Edmundston and another was confirmed at École Saint-Jacques in Edmundston. A positive case was also confirmed at each of the following child-care facilities: Les p'tits trésors de Steph in Drummond; Garderie Au rêve des anges in Edmundston; and Valley View Kids Care in Grand Falls.
Zone 5 (Campbellton region) – A positive case was confirmed at each of the following child-care facilities: Garderie les Débrouillards in Val-d’Amour and Garderie le p'tit monde de Jessie in Eel River Crossing.
58 of 76 new cases not fully vaccinated
Public Health reported 27 recoveries and 76 new cases today. Fifty-eight, or 76 per cent, of today’s 76 cases are not fully vaccinated.
There are 26 people hospitalized due to the virus, with 15 in an intensive care unit. No one under the age of 19 is currently hospitalized. The number of active cases is 557.
An individual 80-89 in Zone 3 (Fredericton region) has died as a result of COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in the province to 49.
“Marcia and I express our sincere condolences to this person’s loved ones,” said Premier Blaine Higgs. “We ask all New Brunswickers to keep this person’s family and friends in their thoughts and prayers.”
“I am saddened to hear that we have lost another person to this virus and offer my sincere sympathy to the loved ones of the deceased,” said Dr. Jennifer Russell, chief medical officer of health.
The 15 new cases in Zone 1 (Moncton region) are as follows:
- four people 19 and under;
- two people 20-29;
- three people 30-39;
- two people 40-49;
- two people 50-59
- a person 60-69; and
- a person 70-79.
Nine cases are under investigation and six are contacts of previously confirmed cases.
The six new cases in Zone 2 (Saint John region) are as follows:
- a person 19 and under;
- a person 20-29;
- three people 30-39 and;
- a person 40-49.
Two cases are under investigation and four are contacts of a previously confirmed case.
The 31 new cases in Zone 3 (Fredericton region) are as follows:
- 17 people 19 and under;
- five people 20-29;
- four people 30-39;
- a person 40-49;
- two people 70-79;
- a person 80-89; and
- a person 90 and over.
A total of 22 cases are under investigation and nine are contacts of previously confirmed cases.
The 14 new cases in Zone 4 (Edmundston region) are as follows:
- four people 19 and under;
- two people 20-29;
- two people 30-39;
- two people 50-59;
- a person 70-79; and;
- three people 90 and over.
Seven cases are under investigation and seven are contacts of previously confirmed cases.
The seven new cases in Zone 5 (Campbellton region) are as follows:
- four people 19 and under;
- a person 30-39; and
- two people 40-49.
Six cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases and one is under investigation.
The two new cases in Zone 6 (Bathurst region) are as follows:
- a person 30-39; and
- a person 80-89.
Both cases are under investigation.
The one new case in Zone 7 (Miramichi region) is a person 60-69 and is a contact of a previously confirmed case.

Vaccination update
Public Health reported today that 78.1 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and 86.8 per cent have received their first dose of a vaccine.
If you have not yet had your first or second dose, you are asked to go to a walk-in clinic or book an appointment through a participating pharmacy or at a Vitalité or Horizon health network clinic as soon as possible.
All eligible New Brunswickers can book their second-dose appointments for a date that is at least 28 days after their first dose.
Those attending a vaccination clinic are asked to bring their Medicare card, a signed consent form and, for those receiving their second dose, a copy of the record of immunization provided after receiving their first dose.

Potential public exposures
Anyone with symptoms of the virus, as well as anyone who has been at the site of a possible public exposure, is urged to request a test online or call Tele-Care 811 to get an appointment.
