FREDERICTON (GNB) – Visitors to New Brunswick's provincial parks and historic attractions are reminded to check the status of the facilities prior to visiting by calling the tourism communication centre at 1-800-561-0123.

Damage to infrastructure, fallen trees and power outages have left some parks lacking in services:

  • Day activities at the beach and on the trails at Mactaquac have been suspended until further notice.
  • All parks are open with the exception of Herring Cove.
  • New River Beach and Mactaquac sustained the most damage and are only providing basic campground services until power and water services are fully restored.
  • The golf course at Mactaquac is closed due to safety risks posed by a significant number of fallen trees.

Parlee Beach, Sugarloaf, Murray Beach, De la République, Hopewell Rocks and the Village Historique Acadien are operating as normal.

For more information go online the provincial parks Facebook page or call 1-800-561-0123 or contact the park directly.
