FLORENCEVILLE-BRISTOL (GNB) – On Saturday, July 15, the community of Florenceville-Bristol will host the second of five New Brunswick Day celebrations taking place in communities across the province in recognition of Canada 150.

“We have so much to celebrate as New Brunswickers: a beautiful province, innovative businesses and wonderful people,” said Premier Brian Gallant. “We encourage New Brunswickers to join us, not only in their community, but to take this opportunity to rediscover the wonderful experiences, events and attractions throughout our province this summer.”

The Florenceville-Bristol celebration will be held at Riverside Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The activities begin with a performance by the Calithumpians followed by a ceremony at 11 a.m. There will also be a free hotdog barbecue, cake, an outdoor market, live music and children's activities, including free museum tours, children’s train fun zone, interactive trains, arts and crafts, Scottie’s selfie centre and face painting.

“I invite everyone to come celebrate with us,” said Carleton-Victoria MLA Andrew Harvey. “With special Canada 150 events and celebrations, and our province’s beautiful hiking trails, rivers, provincial parks, community museums and agri-tourism experiences, just to name a few, there has never been a better time to explore our beautiful and diverse province.”

Harvey commented for Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister John Ames.

Celebrations will also take place in Miramichi on July 22 and in Dorchester on July 29. The official New Brunswick Day will be held on Aug. 7 in Edmundston.
