PRINCE WILLIAM (GNB) – Kings Landing Corporation announced that six new members have been appointed to its board of directors, while four existing members have been reappointed.

Vacancies on the governing board have been filled by appointments listed below:

  • Leah Grandy, of Mazerolle Settlement
  • Gail Swan, of McAdam
  • Eldon Toner, of Fredericton
  • Bradley Cross, of Fredericton
  • Susan Knight, of Upper Kingsclear
  • Juan Estepa, of Fredericton

Reappointments were made for:

  • Helen Jean Newman, of Fredericton
  • Ian G. Stead, of Saint John
  • Molly Demma, of Fredericton (vice-chair)
  • Allison Walker, of Darlings Island (chair)

“Your government recognizes the important role that Kings Landing plays in interpreting and preserving New Brunswick’s heritage and culture,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister John Ames. “We welcome the appointment of these new members of the Kings Landing board of directors and congratulate those individuals who have been reappointed for another term.”

Allison Walker has been chosen to serve as chair of the board after serving two terms as a director and chair of the board’s finance and audit committee.

“Over the past several years, Kings Landing has seen tremendous growth, not only in visitation, but also in the diversity of programming,” said Walker. “The board of directors will play a key role in continuing to drive strategic and measurable growth as it continues to tell New Brunswick’s stories to more and more guests. Kings Landing has created a wonderful legacy in preserving the history of New Brunswick, and I have great faith that the people of New Brunswick will continue to see our stories come to life in new and engaging ways.”

Kings Landing, a provincial Crown corporation, allows guests to see and experience first-hand what 19th-century life was like for New Brunswickers. Kings Landing is 20 minutes west of Fredericton at Exit 253 on the Trans-Canada Highway.
