FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government is partnering with Rogers TV to request nominations for the 12 greatest New Brunswickers.

In the spirit of Canada 150 celebrations, Rogers TV is paying tribute to the many contributions New Brunswickers have made to modern-day society by designating 12 New Brunswickers as the most influential since Confederation through the initiative, The Greats.

“It is no secret that New Brunswickers have been instrumental in many of our country’s achievements over the last 150 years,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister John Ames. “By participating in The Greats, New Brunswickers can raise the profile of some of our most influential individuals.”

Nominations are open until Jan. 15. Semifinalists will then be chosen with the help of an advisory panel. The public will have a second opportunity to participate through voting in late January.

This year’s Canada 150 celebrations served to remind New Brunswickers of the important role they have played in shaping the nation.

“We are proud to support an initiative that celebrates our province’s many contributions and elevates the profiles of 12 exceptional New Brunswickers,” said Ames.

Nominations may be submitted online.
