FREDERICTON (GNB) – To celebrate its 47th season, Kings Landing is offering two promotions for a free visit.
From June 9 to 20, members of the public can check out a pass to Kings Landing using their library card through the Pass to the Past promotion in partnership with New Brunswick Public Library Services.
The other opportunity for free entry to Kings Landing is during opening weekend for Pleasures & Pastimes: A Children’s Festival. On June 12 and 13, children and youth up to age 16 receive free admission. The weekend will include games popular in the 19th century, crafts, treats, theatre, and music. A baseball game is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, at 2 p.m. between Kings Landing staff and a local youth baseball team.
With health and safety measures in place, including mandatory masks indoors and on wagons, visitors can explore the picturesque, open air, living history museum with plenty of space for physical distancing. There are also numerous sanitizing stations outdoors and inside every building.
This summer, guests will be able to dine both outdoors and indoors at the King’s Head Inn. The pub and restaurant are operating at 50 per cent capacity, and takeout is still available for those who prefer to dine outdoors. The Axe & Plough Café, the Peddler’s Market and the Grant Store are also operating to offer guests treats and the opportunity to bring home a unique Kings Landing souvenir.
The Slipp House renovation is still underway and planned for completion later this year.

The historic village is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm from June 9 until October 10. It is located at Exit 253 along the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 2), 20 minutes West of Fredericton.
