FREDERICTON (GNB) – Lt.-Gov. Jocelyne Roy Vienneau issued the following statement today on the passing, on Jan. 7, of former Lt.-Gov. Gilbert Finn:

I join with all New Brunswickers to express my sympathies at the recent passing of Gilbert Finn.

Mr. Finn was a great New Brunswicker, a great Acadian and a great Canadian.

He was a champion on so many levels, leaving his mark in education, culture, business, health care and community engagement. Gilbert Finn will be remembered for his love of this province and its people.

I extend my condolences to his widow, Jeannine, and to his family.

We can shed a tear because he is gone, but we can also smile because he lived – and he made our province a better place.
