FREDERICTON (GNB) – Lt.-Gov. Jocelyne Roy Vienneau invites all residents of the province to join her and her husband Ronald in welcoming the new year at the annual New Year’s Day Levee at Government House in Fredericton.

“This has been a challenging year in so many ways,” said Roy Vienneau. “I look forward to welcoming New Brunswickers to Government House on Jan. 1 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to usher in a new year filled with peace, hope and love.”

“Government House looks its very best during the holidays, and we want to share this national and provincial historic site with all New Brunswickers,” she said. “We will serve traditional Acadian fricot, sweets and hot cider, there will be music, and people can tour the residence.”

The public galleries showcase an exhibit from Craft NB featuring work from some of the best artisans in the province. The public rooms of Government House include period art and antiques made in the province by expert craft workers.

Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted for the Greener Village Food Bank. Parking is available behind the Victoria Health Centre.
