FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement regarding the Council of Atlantic Premier’s meeting was issued today by Premier Blaine Higgs:

I am disappointed that I am unable to join my fellow premiers in person this morning at the Council of Atlantic Premiers meetings in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Initially, I was scheduled to fly out from Saint John on Sunday. After my flight was cancelled, I drove to Fredericton hoping I could fly out from there, but unfortunately, that flight was cancelled as well.

Thankfully with the help of technology, I will be able to participate in the meetings via video conference.

Working together, we can make a real difference for the Atlantic provinces, and I am looking forward to important discussions surrounding softwood lumber tariffs, energy, health care and more.
