FREDERICTON (CNB) – The New Brunswick pavilion was awarded the Best Multiple Booth Award by the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers at this year's Grocery Innovation Show in Toronto, Oct. 25 and 26. This was the second consecutive year the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries, in co-operation with Business New Brunswick, hosted the pavilion.

Designed by Global Convention Services in Saint John, the pavilion hosted 12 New Brunswick companies showcasing a wide range of products. Companies included: Granite Town Farms, St. Thomas Fish Market Inc., Fancy Pokket Corp., Belle Baie Products Ltd., Culinary Wines Inc., Northern Harvest, Amazin' Fruit Products, Eastern Sea Products Ltd., Bonte Foods, La Maison Beausoleil (2010) inc., Lewis Mountain Fresh Farm Inc., and Pro-Mer Seafood.

A key feature of the New Brunswick pavilion was a live and interactive chef station. Chef Richard Chiasson, of the Collège communautaire du Nouveau Brunswick, Acadian Peninsula campus, prepared unique and innovative dishes made from the products of each company.

In addition, one New Brunswick company, Culinary Wines Inc., was voted as having one of the most innovative products on the trade show floor.

These achievements coupled with the valuable business contacts made by all companies involved, contributed to New Brunswick's success at this year's show.

The Grocery Innovation Show is Canada's only trade show dedicated to the grocery industry. With over 500 exhibitors and more than 4,500 attendees, this is a key event where the food and grocery industries gather to showcase new products and to do business.
