FREDERICTON (GNB) – Anglers and hunters in New Brunswick now have access to a convenient, web-based e-licensing system.

“Fishing and hunting provide enjoyment for thousands of New Brunswickers and also benefit our economy by creating jobs and generating much-needed revenue,” said Natural Resources Minister Denis Landry. “We are pleased to roll out this modernized licensing system that will make it easier and more efficient for anglers and hunters to obtain a license in our province.”

The Department of Natural Resources issues more than 150,000 hunting, angling and trapping licenses each year.

The e-licensing system will be available for anglers and applications to the Resident Moose Draw this spring. All hunting and trapping licenses and other draws will move to the e-licensing system in 2016.

All licenses can still be obtained through the traditional methods at Service New Brunswick Centres and through private vendors.

The e-licensing initiative is a first step in a broader government move towards a system which will allow New Brunswickers to be issued a single card for all their licensing and identification needs.
