FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government is making it easier and more efficient for New Brunswickers to obtain a number of licences.
Starting July 18, individuals will be able to purchase their deer and game bird licences and apply for the antlerless deer draw through the Department of Energy and Resource Development’s e-licensing system.
“We are pleased that we have been able to bring in a system that is efficient for both the applicant and the government,” said Energy and Resource Development Minister Rick Doucet. “As our government looks at ways to improve the province’s fiscal situation, we need innovative solutions like e-licensing.”
The system was introduced last year to make it easier for fishing enthusiasts to obtain licences and moose hunters to apply for the resident moose draw. Applicants receive an Outdoors Card with a unique identification number to use for all their licensing needs.
General hunting licences, including moose and fur harvesting licences, as well as the bobcat draw will also be available through the e-licensing system this year.
The e-licensing system will not be available for the sale of 2016 varmint and bear licences. They will be sold through vendors and Service New Brunswick centres until 2017.
New Brunswickers can complete their e-licensing application online, at Service New Brunswick centres and at registered vendors.
