FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government today laid out a roadmap for the future of New Brunswick that focuses on key priorities and the importance of public accountability.

“Being aware of challenges is not enough if you are not willing to act to create change,” said Premier Blaine Higgs. “We have a number of challenges that must be faced head on and it all starts with setting priorities. Our government is committed to continuing to do what is necessary to keep delivering results for New Brunswickers.”

The government’s priorities are:

  • Affordable and responsive government
  • Dependable public health care
  • World-class education
  • Energized private sector
  • Vibrant and sustainable communities
  • High-performing organization

The announcement comes following caucus meetings from Sept. 18 to 20.

Measurement metrics for each priority will be tracked and posted publicly so New Brunswickers are able to see the progress made over time.

"Together we have the opportunity to affect real and lasting change that will benefit New Brunswickers not just today, but for generations to come,” said Higgs. “We have our roadmap and we have begun making progress on this journey. We are providing New Brunswickers with the information they need to understand what government is doing, to hold government accountable and to join us on the journey.”
