FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government announced today that summer job applications for the Student Employment Experience Development (SEED) program will be open from Feb. 3 to March 31.

“Your government knows how important creating jobs and growing the economy are to New Brunswickers and their families,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Donald Arseneault. “The SEED program will help our young people accumulate valuable experience and make connections, and will cultivate a skilled workforce in our province.”

The program provides experiential learning opportunities for students during the summer months. This summer, up to 2,000 placements will be available. Students can apply for jobs that will help them develop transferable skills and reach their career goals.

Students can learn more about the application process and eligibility, and also apply online. Employers will also be able to post job opportunities beginning Feb. 3. Once the application process is closed, eligible students will be randomly selected from the pool of registered applicants to ensure fairness and equal opportunity. High school and college students will receive a summer job placement of up to eight weeks. University students will receive placements of up to 10 weeks.

Other valuable information for job-seekers and employers as well as an aggregate of job opportunities available province-wide, is also available online.
