TRACADIE-SHEILA (CNB) – The provincial government is investing a total of $448,000 in three community-related projects in the Tracadie-Sheila region.

"Our investments will help the region with a variety of important community projects," said Economic Development Minister Paul Robichaud in making the announcement on Friday, July 22.

The provincial government is investing $100,000 with the Town of Tracadie-Sheila to assist in production costs associated with Tracady Story 2, a live outdoor summer musical production.  

Another $48,000 is being invested with the Town of Tracadie-Sheila to assist in the costs of reducing odour problems in Pointe-à-Bouleau.

The provincial government is investing $300,000 with Les Anciens et Amis de l'Academie Sainte-Famille inc. of Tracadie-Sheila to make infrastructure improvements to the academy, a provincial historical building that once served as a school, boarding school, orphanage and health-care facility. The building is now being used by the community for courses as well as arts, cultural and heritage activities.
