SAINT JOHN (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $50,000 in the InterAction School of Performing Arts in Saint John.

“As a government, we are pleased to support opportunities for children and youth to experience art and culture, which are important components to a richer quality of life for New Brunswickers,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Trevor Holder. “We are grateful to the InterAction School of Performing Arts for providing the space and training to help so many children gain access to and participate in the arts in the Saint John region.”

Holder made the announcement at the school on behalf of Natural Resources Minister Paul Robichaud, who is minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.

The funding will help the school repair the roof and upgrade various aspects of the facility.

The school is a performance company for young people that offers classes, workshops, and performance opportunities in a safe, professional, and creative environment. The school aims to emphasize personal development within a group setting. Through classes, professional productions, and community outreach programming, the school has become a significant producer and facilitator of youth culture, tourism, wellness and sustainable growth in the region.
