SAINT-ANNE-DE MADAWASKA (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $43,000 in an infrastructure project for the Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska dome.

“Our government strongly encourages all new Brunswickers to engage in physical activity in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and that also includes disabled persons,” said Social Development Minister Madeleine Dubé.

Dubé spoke on behalf of Natural Resources Minister Paul Robichaud, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.

This financial contribution will allow for the construction of an entrance, a wheelchair ramp, repairs to the washrooms, and the development of a skateboard park and a fence. The funding will be provided by the Regional Development Corporation.

“I am proud that disabled persons living in the Village of Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska can have easier access to this sports building and enjoy the services offered there just like the other residents of the village and the surrounding area,” said Dubé. “This project helps to improve the quality of life of the residents of Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska.”

In 2013, the provincial government invested $148,000 in the project for laying the foundations, installing the dome, and work on the electrical system.
