TRACADIE (GNB) – The provincial and federal governments are investing a total of $165,200 in the eco-educational park project at École Le Tremplin in Tracadie.
“The provincial government invests in community projects such as the eco-educational park to promote active, healthy lifestyles,” said Environment and Local Government Minister Serge Rousselle. “We are proud to be a partner in this important recreational community project for the entire community of Tracadie. This park will play an integral role in the daily lives of local residents and will help to ensure that all children can play and learn together for many years to come.”
Rousselle spoke on behalf of Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.
“I am pleased to see this project carried out, as it is so important to the whole region, especially to the youth who suggested it,” said Acadie-Bathurst MP Serge Cormier. “The eco-educational park, with all its components, will help them stay active and learn more about environmental issues. It is through raising awareness among the adults of tomorrow that we will be able to protect the environment.”
Cormier attended for federal Innovation, Science and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains, who is also the minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
The provincial government is investing $85,000 and the federal government, through ACOA, is providing $80,200 under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
