HANWELL (GNB) – A ceremony was held today to mark the official opening of a new playground at the Hanwell Recreation Park.

“The provincial government invests in important community projects such as this playground project with the Rural Community of Hanwell to promote active, healthy lifestyles,” said deputy premier Stephen Horsman. “We are proud to be a partner in this important recreational community project and be here for the grand opening today.”

“We are proud to have the Province of New Brunswick as our partner ‎and their investment to make this new playground a reality,” said Hanwell Mayor Chris Melvin. “It is a valuable recreational asset for our community that will allow our children to benefit from having a safe environment while at the same time promoting the importance of physical activity and play.”

Funding was provided under the Program for Municipal Development to Commemorate Canada’s 150th Anniversary.
