SAINT JOHN (GNB) – The completion of Phase 2 of the Loch Lomond Villa project was officially marked today in Saint John.

This $22 million phase included the construction of a 90-bed replacement facility at 185 Loch Lomond Rd., the demolition of portions of the original building and extensive renovations to other parts of the original building to create a new administrative/service area for the facility.

“Moving New Brunswick forward means ensuring that our seniors get the care they need and have the quality of life they deserve,” said Social Development Minister Cathy Rogers. “This new facility will go a long way towards meeting the needs of seniors in Saint John.”

Phase 1, completed in December 2012, consisted of the construction of a new $30.25 million, 100-bed facility.

Now that Phase 2 is completed, the Loch Lomond Villa features a total of 190 beds at a total cost of more than $52 million.

Construction on Phase 2 began in March 2013, and was completed in July 2015.
