FREDERICTON (GNB) – New Brunswickers are encouraged to take advantage of the many activities being organized across the province to celebrate Wellness Week, Oct.1 to 7.

“Wellness is about feeling good, living well, being healthy and having a better quality of life,” said Social Development Minister Cathy Rogers. “Improving wellness is good for all of us because it means we are all healthier and more resilient. It makes New Brunswick a great place to live and raise a family.”

During the week, various groups, organizations, communities, workplaces and schools will be celebrating and promoting the Wellness Movement by hosting a variety of activities to get people more involved in wellness.

This year, a new theme called Start Your Story invites people to celebrate the actions they have taken to improve their wellness while encouraging others to begin the journey of becoming healthier and more active.

“Our goal is to reach even more people and increase their understanding, awareness and motivation of the benefits of being well,” said Rogers. “We all need to be taking steps to improve wellness for ourselves and those around us.”
