PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Team New Brunswick won its first two games in women’s hockey at the 25th Canada Games, being held in Prince George, B.C.

Team New Brunswick defeated Yukon, 14-0, Sunday, Feb. 15, after blanking the Northwest Territories by an identical score on Saturday.

“It’s going to come down to who wants it more,” said Maryelle Hannam, head coach for women’s hockey. “Our first two games were good for us to work on our technical plays and our systems.”

The 1-1 ringette squad beat Team Quebec, 6-5, in a nailbiter after leading 5-2 heading into the final frame. The team lost a 7-4 heartbreaker to Team Manitoba, Saturday, on the first day of competitions.
