FREDERICTON (GNB) – Members of the public may visit any of the province’s 62 public libraries in October and use their library card to sign out one free admission pass to the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton.
“The New Brunswick Public Library Service is pleased to partner with the Beaverbrook Art Gallery on this unique opportunity,” said Labour, Employment and Population Growth Minister Gilles LePage. “I encourage all New Brunswickers to take advantage of free admission to the gallery to learn about our province's rich social, economic and cultural fabric on display in this beautiful, state-of-the-art facility.”
The pass will be valid for one visit from Nov. 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
“Our government recognizes the critical role of art in our society and the value that it brings to New Brunswickers,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister John Ames. “The free admission pass promotion provides the opportunity to discover artists in a meaningful way as well as build visual literacy skills.”
This partnership aims to increase awareness of the ever-expanding free services offered in public libraries and to provide patrons with an opportunity to visit the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the provincial art gallery of New Brunswick. This type of promotional campaign has also been offered in partnership with Kings Landing, the Village historique acadien, and the New Brunswick Museum.
“We are delighted to partner with our provincial library service on this project, and to enable broader access to the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and its exhibitions,” said interim director and CEO Bernard Riordon. “Though our collections differ, our shared goal of public access makes this a natural fit. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this program to check out their provincial art gallery.”
