FREDERICTON (GNB) – Lt.-Gov. Graydon Nicholas joined with all New Brunswickers to offer best wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge upon the announcement of the birth of their baby – a boy, third in line to the throne.

“I know New Brunswickers have fallen in love with William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,” said Nicholas. “We have all been eagerly awaiting the safe arrival of this new child.  I hope everyone will join with me to pray for this new heir to the throne; that he will be healthy and happy and grow up with the love and wisdom of his parents, his extended family and of the entire Commonwealth.

“As a grandparent, I know well the enthusiasm and energy of our youth. I offer best wishes to the new Prince of Cambridge – and his parents, grandparents and great grandparents – on behalf of myself, my wife, Beth, and of all New Brunswickers.”

Nicholas invites the public to sign an online book of good wishes.

Roses will also be planted on the grounds of the official residence of the lieutenant-governor, Government House in Fredericton, to mark the historic birth.
